This place sounds and looks like a really fancy secret gem. Can someone just go in and sit at the bar solo/party of one for food and drink without reservations?
A:
Yes! You definitely could. They have a nice light bar, and you wouldn't feel out of place.

This was a truly incredible place! You walk in and it feels like you are in a secret speak-easy. The decorations are beautiful and quirky. They have velvet couches and interesting art.
It's kinda dark and that adds to the appeal of the place!
This is a great place to bring out-of-town visitors, or to have a fun night with some friends!
ALL the staff were super friendly and made you feel like they were your friends.
We asked a lot of questions about the drinks and all the staff were really knowledgeable and could not only answer the questions but we're teaching us about different alcohol and mixes.
They were so great at encouraging us to try something we haven't had before and assured us they will make something new if we didn't like it.
Because of that we tried new and interesting drinks we normally wouldn't go for- and we loved them all!
They do serve food as well but we were there for cocktails and wow do they have so many unique and interesting options! Things you can't get other places!
They do a happy hour too that is fun to go to.
Each week night they have some different things happening there (I posted a picture of the different themes of the nights).
We had no problem getting in but it is a good idea to make reservations. If you have to wait they have a little sitting area.
They have street parking outside and it's right downtown so perfect to make a day of it.
They have moveable tables and chairs as well as booths.
They can accommodate large parties and I think it's the ideal place for birthday/bachelorette/bachelor parties.
They used metal straws- yay for ECO friendly!
I loved that they had a craft of water on the table for you at all times!
I highly recommend this place- it's a must go!!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 31613163949Jan 6, 2020
The little sister and I stopped in here for cocktails and a snack while perusing around downtown. We were in the mood for something fun to drink and something light to eat and settled ourselves at the bar to evaluate their snacka offerings.
This place has a fabulous prohibition period atmosphere with dark wood paneling, rich textured wallpaper, and intimate chandeliers and lighting. Their specialty cocktail menu and friendly bartenders make ordering drinks a delight.
We ordered cocktails and inquired about gluten free items on their menu. Our bartender/server was very loquacious and happy to help us find out what was safe for us to eat considering we are both no choice VIP allergy members of the glutenisgross club. Their menu has designated gf labeling to help you make your selection in avoiding the glutens. We settled on the charcuterie board and a side salad. The ingredients were quality and the salad was refreshing. The charcuterie was a little vegetable forward for my taste and wouldn't have minded seeing an apple or pear on their for variety.
We thoroughly enjoyed our brief stop in here and the great conversation we had with both bartenders as well as the ambiance and cocktails. Looking forward to checking it out next time we're in the area again.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Aug 7, 2019
We came here this past Friday and were pleased to see that it was not super busy. Both of us were in the mood for drinks and beer/ wine did not sound appealing at the time. We were also in the mood for some small plates and Dillinger's fit the bill.
My boyfriend and I ordered the flatbread and small charcuterie & cheese plate. For drinks, he had the gin old fashioned, and I had the koala tea (gin, eucalyptus, lemon and lime juices, and egg white). For the second round we both did bartender's choice with gin. Everything we had was delicious. I was not sure about having egg white in my drink, but I didn't notice the taste at all.
Our bartender was very nice, and we enjoyed the entire experienceHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 1928935486Jun 23, 2019
This place is not obviously marked from the street, it is a fairly discreet store front.
Parking is interesting. I parked in the bank lot across from the place because it was after hours, but there are no after hours here, the lot is monetized 24/7 regardless of whether the bank is open or not. There is gratuitous signage to inform you of this. An interesting application for sure, and I would love to know more about the deal between the lot management company and the bank.
Back to the venue, come for the drinks mostly, the food can be hit and miss and is on the small/light side.
We were in town for business and wanted to catch at least one night out together for a bev and bite and keep it interesting so the high roller table it was. We were tucked away in the back corner of the bar next to the vault door.
Drinks were ordered and poured. I opted for the rib eye, which was underwhelming at best, both in flavor & quality; and horrors of horrors, they were stingy with the brussel sprouts!? End result, I was hungry after I left.
The whiskey donut bread pudding does not disappoint, not just a name, we all shared the indulgence and were in complete agreement that it was the right call.
Would I come again? Probably not, once is enough for this one.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nicole F.Lynchburg, VA149132368Aug 17, 2019
Came here solo for a happy hour because I had a long drive home and was hungry lol.
The happy hour menu was a tad small but reasonably priced and sounded good. I had a drink, dinner, and desert for $32.
The bartender was really nice and chatted with me which I always appreciate if I'm there solo. She had great recommendations too.
The decor is cool and a super old money vibe but I dug it. There's two different rooms and bars. No TV's that I saw so some come for MNF.
The food was good but not like WOW. It was pleasant enough to go back but could use a tiny sprucing up. Overall nice time and I would recommend it.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Anissa D.San Mateo, CA8452371717Jul 3, 2018
A very historic building as it is one of the oldest in the capital of Washington. My bf and I were driving up to Seattle from Portland when he decided to make a pit stop in Olympia for some Happy Hour and to wait for traffic to die down. He found Dillinger's through Yelp and was captivated by the reviews and HH selections.
The building used to be an old bank thus the tall ceiling, oldish decor, and out-of-time vibe this place gives. but I LOVED it. Loved everything about this place and how dark it is with a hint of sunlight beaming in from the windows. Really brings you back to the prohibition era. Also really liked how the staff are so trendy and hip dressing with cool hairstyles and clothing.
We came in around 5 ish, right before the end of their happy hour at 6 pm. Was brought to this two-seater table with comfy leather lounge chairs across from the bar.
HAPPY HOUR
(Open - 6 pm daily)
(Friday & Saturday 3pm - 1am)
For HH drinks, they offered $6:
- Daiquiri (Rum, Blend, Lime, Sugar),
- Gold Rush (Bourbon, Lemon Honey),
- Boilermaker (Shot of Bourbon & Aslan "Dawn Patrol" Pacific Ale),
- Manhattan (Bourbon or Rye Sweet Vermouth & Bitters),
- Negroni (Gin, Sweet Vermouth, Campari), and
- Martini (gin or vodka, Dry Vermouth 2:1).
I ordered the Daiquiri and Gin Martini and damn, the Martini was S T R O N G... almost knocked my socks off and got my eyes bulging from the taste. I did however really liked the Daiquiri which our bartender recommended after I told him the Martini was a bit too strong for me. My bf got the Gold Rush and he loved it... so much that he ordered 3.
For food, we got their Charcuterie & Cheese ($16) consisting of 2 types of cheese, charcuterie (2 kinds), 4 toasted baguette, and house pickled accouterments. Portion was good to share for 2. We really liked the cheese and charcuterie but the picked stuff was just too sour. Besides this, we also tried the Chips & Dip ($7) consisting of salt & pepper potato chips served with onion dip. Chips were crispy and the dip was good.
PS: CHECK- IN for $2 off your first cocktail! :DHelpful 22Thanks 0Love this 20Oh no 0 - Nov 25, 2018
Sometimes you want a flashback to a classier time in history. This is that place.
It's not flashy, or big with tons of seats but what it lacks in seating it makes up for in character. The menu is limited, but perfect. It specializes in flavors and combinations.
My husband and I stopped by for the second time, first since the remodel, and were impressed.
They have started a holiday tradition and a holiday drink menu that blew me away. I ordered the ribeye and a martini and that was incredible. The ribeye, while a bit undercooked was filled with flavor. The husband ordered a crab cake and mussels that he adored. After our meal we were treated to a small sample of a distinctive bourbon and orange sage sorbet.
Ah-maze-ing.
You simply must try that sorbet as soon as they put it on the menu.
I love having a place in Olympia that I can count on to never disappoint.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 6712864Oct 26, 2018
Dillingers has beautiful ambiance, great food, and yummy drinks. It's the perfect place to grab a drink after going to the theatre or after a walk downtown.
Our waitress was super attentive, and we weren't sitting with dirty dishes at our table for more than 3 min.
I love how it wasn't super load either! We could all hear each other at our table.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jenny J.Olympia, WA2413573Dec 15, 2018
The drinks here are top notch. The holiday drink menu has some creative concoctions. I forgot what I ordered, but it had egg white foam on top and was quite delicious.
The crab cakes were pure perfection. Very flavorful, not bready or dense, just delightful.
For an entree I had the chicken ragu with risotto. I wasn't impressed with this dish. There were just a few tiny bits of chicken, the sauce wasn't exciting, and the risotto was a bit too el dente. I wouldn't order it again.
My friend had the redeeming entree of ribeye? steak which was incredibly tender and perfectly seasoned and served just right medium rare. They do steak right!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Steve L.Olympia, WA0305Feb 15, 2019
Been here several times before and liked it so thought we'd try the fixed price 4-course Valentines dinner. Drinks good, but left disappointed. The dinner's "Pomegranate etc" concept was good but the execution of food & service not so much. The couple next to us had a similar experience, unfortunately.
One first course was to be 6 oysters with pomegranate and radish. Two small ones delivered, on bed of salt & with a couple radish slices. Upon asking about the number, staff seemed confused but eventually brought 4 more regular large Pacific oysters (on bed of salt). The other first course was a cheese plate (cheese, crostini, tapenade) but arrived with no crostini. Ended up having to ask for some bread. Next was salad, which was good. For our third course we both chose the Koji marinated ribeye (requested med-rare). Neither was MR; both over cooked (no pink evident). Staff didn't ask about the steak until we were finished, beyond the time we might have brought it to their attention. Finally, the desserts were weak - bread pudding was dry, and panna cotta was made with eggs not gelatin (so was basically a flan).
Hard to be so critical after having some good dinner experiences in the past. We've appreciated what the small kitchen can pull off. And we understand busy special occasion/menus/staffing are challenging, but...Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
