Hot Ginger Pho

The Pho was great. My wife and I have tried a couple other places but always come back here. We have had both done in service and carry out.

Alright yall Imma give you the straight up, unedited, unredacted, play-by-play of what went down at Ginger Pho last night.

First things first, y'all know I have my Banh Mi collection trying to find the best Banh Mi in Grit City. While I was down in Lacey I had to keep it trippy and take a look at what they're workin with too. So here goes:

"Damn this place is empty AF"

[asks for my drink order as I'm being seated]

*no need to look at the menu*
"Ma'am, I already know what I'll order too - 2x fresh rolls, 1x chicken Banh Mi, and a large Thai Tea"

[I leave for the bathroom]

[mariachi music is playing from the kitchen]

*pause* if you hear MARIACHI music coming from the kitchen of a Vietnamese restaurant it's a huge red flag. Let me continue:

"Damn! Thai tea and spring rolls already out!"
"Gottamn! These spring rolls are GOOD!"
"Yo! Banh Mi is here. Look at all those fixins!"
"Aye this bread is GOOD!"

Bottom line is this yall, Hot Ginger Pho has all the red flags that would typically steer me away from a place but surprised my expectations and honestly this restaurant pops off. I will also say the service was exceptional too - everyone there keeps it trill. I would highly recommend this establishment. Lastly that Banh Mi was so good I forgot to take a damn pic fr though. 5 stars.

We love the place.

It was a late lunch, kids and I were starving.
We ordered a regular Pho noddle and a BBQ pork rice dish.
They looked pricy to me at first, then when I saw the actual dishes, they were BIG.
Love the BBQ pork rice, it gave pretty good amount of pork chops with pretty balanced veggies (a cup of coleslaw and some Vietnamese salad with fish sauce)

I was amazed that food was so good that kids wanted to order an extra bowl of rice to finish the rest of the pork chops.

Servers were really attentive all the time and environment was nice and quiet (my kids were probably the only noisy source in the restaurant)

I am happy with everything.
The only 2 things I think the restaurant can improve. There are: 1. Pork chop is little salty (maybe that was the reason to make the dish delicious), kids got excited in the beginning and after all, got really thirsty. Otherwise, the dish was nearly awesome. 2. The fish tank needs to clean.

We will make sure to visit in the future for different items.

Came here for dinner on a weekend, wasn't busy. The tables near the door get really cold though. So I suggest sitting further inside. The pho was rather flavorless. It seems like they don't really cook the broth for long enough or it's just very diluted. The portion size is pretty good though. The gyoza weren't anything special either. I got them since I was pretty hungry and there's a combo that had them for like $2 more.

Yeaaaah ... I'll never come or eat here again. Y'all better watch your stomachs ! Not only did my spring roll have mold of it ( and they said it was from the lettuce and it was cut fresh) why wasn't all the spring rolls like that then ? If this is what fresh if then .. maybe we shouldn't be serving it. Also that green hue ? Can't be from the lettuce since it's through and through. ( but whatever they said fine ) i still had to pay for it .. also, ordered a steak pho .. please look at the picture and tell me if you're going to eat something that is going left and right ? Like i thought i was tripping so of course i dressed it up and it went away but 5 secs later back to being separated .. those who love pho like me .. know that ain't right ..

Also it says hot ginger pho + bar but that is some false advertisement. Asked for a Bloody Mary and was told they don't make those let alone don't have a drink menu .. so why even say y'all are a bar ?

Ambiance it was cool in there good music but i don't recommend

The food is great here. Service is amazing.
My favorite item is their pork bahn mi sandwich

The pho broth is a bit bland if you're looking for that traditional pho flavor from the star anise. Basil, cilantro, onion and green onions were very limited. Kind of a disappointment.

I'm pretty picky about my banh mi and spring rolls, and I was solidly satisfied after a fast dinner to go here.

We got the spring rolls, a beef banh mi, and a pork banh mi. Everything was ready in the exact time they estimated, which was really nice since we were stopping quickly in an effort to get home several hours away. The rolls are a little tough to eat without falling apart, and they use lettuce instead of basil, but the fur is very fresh. As for the sandwiches: The meat was good, if not a bit sparse, and the sandwiches were a little mayo heavy, They were able to accommodate my cilantro aversion, so that is a plus as well. The jalapeños were HOT, so eat your first bites with caution!

Service was pretty good, easy to order on the phone, and it was right off the interstate, so easy to get to. It was $40 before tip , which is a bit pricier than North of the city, but not unexpected. It hit the spot, and that's all I could ask for.

Tofu and veggie pho one of best in town! The variety of veggies and broth flavor was great!

This is my favorite place for pho. The servers are always nice, service is great. The food is always good and the restaurant always looks nice :)
